    Lady Bird Lake is a major reservoir on the Colorado River flowing directly through the center of downtown.  It serves as Austin's premier recreational hub for non-motorized water sports and waterfront activities.  The Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail is a scenic 10-mile scenic loop in the heart of Austin.  It hugs the shores of Lady Bird Lake, serving as the city's premier urban pathway for runners, walkers, and cyclists. The Boardwalk is a spectacular 1.3-mile elevated boardwalk structure on the south shore that lets you walk directly over the water with unobstructed views of the Austin skyline.

    Downtown Austin

    Just a 15 minute biking trip (2.7 miles) using the waterfront trail and city bike lanes will get you to Downtown Austin.  Driving to downtown takes about 15 minutes or 3 miles via E. Riverside Dr.  The Rainey Street Historic District is a vibrant, popular nightlife and dining enclave in downtown Austin.  It’s about a 2 mile drive via S. Lakeshore Blvd.
